A form of identification showing proof of your current address is required. Children
14 and under must be accompanied by an adult when applying for a card.
What are the item loan periods?
Loan periods are:
New Adult Books: 2 weeks
All Other Books: 2 weeks
Magazines: 2 weeks
Audio Cassettes: 2 weeks
Videocassettes and DVDs: 3 days
CD-ROMs: 1 week
Books-on-CD: 2 weeks
CD/MP3 player: 1 week
How can I renew an item?
All items (except videocassettes
and DVDs) may be renewed twice if they have not been requested
by another patron. You may phone the Library to renew or come in person.
Item(s) cannot be renewed if overdue. When you return the late item and pay
the fine, you may re-check it out if there are no holds on the item.
Can I reserve an item?
Cardholders may reserve all items except
videocassettes and DVDs.
How much are overdue
fines?
Overdue fines are:
Videocassettes, CD-ROMs, and DVDs: $1.00 a day
All Other Items: 10 cents/day
Lost Items: Price of item plus $4.00 processing fee
Can I use my library card at other libraries?
You can use your library card at other public libraries in Illinois as part of the
reciprocal borrowing program. Cards from people who reside outside the Library District
can be used at this Library.
Can I reserve a meeting room?
Public meeting rooms can be reserved. Room reservation forms are available at the
Circulation Desk. You must have a valid McHenry Nunda Library card
to reserve rooms.
